Faith Community Nursing
The purpose of the Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church health ministry is to extend the love of Jesus through a holistic view of health and wellness among our church community. This is done through compassion, nurturing, education, and encouraging others towards positive behaviors.
Faith Community Nursing (FCN) at the Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church competently provides noninvasive activities that promote health, healing, and wholeness. Using resources available within the congregation and community, FCN helps empower individuals and their families to navigate the complexities of health care, helping to bridge the gaps in our healthcare delivery system.
So what exactly does FCN look like in action? Some examples range from free blood pressure screenings on a Sunday morning to checking in with shut-ins and their families. FCN also distributes a quarterly newsletter entitled The Honeycomb, providing relevant medical-related information to the church family.
Did you know you don't have to have a medical background to be involved with FCN? There are numerous non-medical volunteer opportunities!
