About Our Studies

All of our Bible Studies, Life Groups and outreach ministries (like “GriefShare,” and “DivorceCare”) have one goal: to produce mature followers of Jesus in community. That’s another way of saying, “multiply committed followers of Jesus.” So, the question remains, “How do I choose which group is right for me?”

BIBLE STUDIES
Bible studies seek to teach us what God says to us in the Bible so that we can submit our lives, desires and behavior to him. Bible studies might be organized around who we are (a women’s study, men’s study, or study for young adults) or simply be a general study open to all (such as our Sunday morning “Equip” study). Peruse the various studies below and choose a study and time which works great for you. Our studies are all “drop-in studies,” which means that you are welcome to drop-in and check the study out any time that works for you.

LIFE GROUPS
Life Groups are groups of 8-14 people which meet in people’s homes about twice per month for the purpose of prayerfully applying the Sunday morning teaching to our everyday lives. In these groups we make friends, encourage each other to live out the Scriptures and pray for one another, especially in the area of being and making disciples for Jesus Christ. You can find out much more about Life Groups here.

The bottom line: we are better together. We learn to follow Jesus in small, Bible-saturated communities. And we long for everyone to follow Jesus more closely.

Men

Men's Bible Study

Wednesdays, 9:30-11 am

As we study the book of Acts, we'll put ourselves in the place of the disciples - feel with them as they are filled with the Holy Spirit and thrill with them as they see thousands respond to the gospel message. We'll sense their commitment as they give every ounce of talent and treasure to Christ and commit ourselves to do the same.

More Like Jesus: Gospel of John Study

Wednesdays, 6:30-8pm in Superior

More Like Jesus

When the men who love Jesus show up, we help each other, encourage one another, give up our lives to know God, and serve our people - to serve his people. This church is full of men who are doing this. Men who are excellent at their careers and crafts. Men who guard the perimeters so there is safety and growth within the borders.

As men, we need daily reminders that Jesus is both the reason that we live and the strength to keep on going. Those men who step up are the ones becoming More Like Jesus. When the men who love Jesus show up, we help each other, encourage one another, give up our lives to know God, and serve our people - to serve his people. Gospel of John

Wednesday nights from 6:30-8pm (running concurrently with KidsMin and Student Ministries), we'll study all the reasons that John lays out for us to believe that Jesus is the one and only Messiah whom God promised would come. Men, he has come. And he has changed everything.

A collaboration of excellent teachers will lead us, and we will encourage one another. More than a study, this is an opportunity to participate, grow and change. If you have questions, reach out to Jeff Kuhlow, Tom Olson, Josh McKinley, Jon Vrzal, or Jon MacDonald.

When Fear Meets Faith

Wednesday evenings, October 4, 11, & 18 at 6:30 pm
Fireside Room

Are you afraid of what others might think of you? Is it difficult for you to trust others? Do you find yourself crippled by the idea of being harmed? Life in a sinful world provides many reasons to feel afraid. From fearing the approval of man to fearing physical harm, we all experience fear in some way. Fear reminds us of our limitations and illuminates our desire for protection. But how are Christians called to deal with the reality of their fears?

Over the course of this 3-week study, we will look to the pages of the Bible to understand God’s intentions for our fears. We will learn what it looks like to turn from false comforts and live with ultimate trust in God’s perfect provision and care.

Led by Kinsey Nurnberger, this Bible Study follows the book When Fear Meets Faith. To order a book, visit thedailygraceco.com.

Hosea

Young Adults gather and study Scripture for the growing of faith in Christ as well as relationships with each other. The schedule alternates between the study and community nights.

Our current study focuses on the book of Hosea. Hosea is primarily a love story, specifically one of redemptive love. The pain Hosea has endured in his marriage to unfaithful Gomer uniquely qualifies him for his prophetic ministry to the Lord’s unfaithful people. Failing to trust the Lord, Israel has sought security in foreign powers and false gods. Yet, as Hosea is eager to show, Israel’s unfaithfulness has not diminished God’s love for them. Hosea paints Israel’s spiritual adultery with vivid images, calling God’s people with both warnings and heartfelt appeals to turn back to the Lord. Failure to repent will result in punishment, but God takes no delight in that prospect. Rather, he desires them to turn from idols to him, their true husband and the only one who can provide for their needs.

Current Series

He Makes All Things New

Join us at 9:30am on Sundays in the Worship Center for this series led by Brian Phipps, Dr. Walter Kaiser, and several of our elders.

God makes all things new. That’s not just a nice idea or optimistic outlook. That’s a fact.
When we say “all things,” what do we mean? We still have the same bodies, the same families, the same blood coursing through our veins; we live in the same houses and have the same jobs. True. But in this Equip series, we take a closer look at all the things God has changed and will continue to change.

He changes who we are when we become his sons and daughters. He changes the penalty for our past and our standing in the present. He changes the reasons we breathe; no longer trying to justify or prove ourselves, we can rest on who we are in Jesus. He changes what we devote ourselves to, what we think about, and what we spend our time doing. He changes our dreams, motivations, and outlook about everything. Indeed, he makes all things new.
