Student Ministries
eFree Student Ministries exists to multiply committed followers of Jesus Christ among students and their families.
We offer students in grades 6–12 several opportunities to get involved and build their faith! Read on to find out
all the details. Follow us on social media and stay in touch!
RISEN
RISEN is a ministry for students in grades 6–12 that seeks to win and build disciples of Jesus Christ. At Risen, students are challenged to get to know Jesus Christ and grow as His disciples.
Wednesday Evenings in Cafe 19, beginning September 9, 2026
Doors open at 6:20 pm for leaders and students to fellowship and eat a delicious meal together. After dinner, Middle School and High School students separate for their own teaching time, small-group discussion, and games. Small groups are led by godly adults who show up every week to love and pour their lives into our students.
Middle School – Wraps up around 8:00 pm.
Our Middle School curriculum this year centers on Key Texts from God’s word that we need for life. We will take time to study these texts, apply them to our lives, and memorize a portion of the Bible with the group every month. Alongside weekly teaching, students are challenged to build a daily habit of personal devotions, learn a practical Bible study method, and get grounded in the key passages that will prepare them for the future.
High School – Wraps up around 8:30 pm.
Our High School curriculum this fall walks students through what it looks like to live as a maturing follower of Jesus. This year, students are studying Gospel-Powered Life and Growth, where they will grow their understanding of how God works in us to help us grow and live lives for Him.
Student Equip
EQUIP seeks to build and equip students to grow in their faith with a steady diet of God's Word.
Sunday Mornings, 9:30 am – 10:45 am
We start with a time of mingling — just hanging out and getting to know each other. At 9:40, we dig into Paul’s letter to the Romans together using the inductive Bible study method of observation, interpretation, and application. We wrap up around 10:30 am.
EQUIP Students is a wonderful opportunity for students to grow in God’s Word, but it is not meant to replace Sunday Worship. If your family needs to choose between the two, we joyfully encourage parents and students to worship together.
Bible Quizzing
Bible Quizzing seeks to build and equip students to dive deeper into God’s Word.
Wednesday evening practice, 4:45 pm – 6:20 pm, September – April
Gathering weekly during the school year to study and memorize Scripture, students on the eFree Bible Quiz Team prepare to compete against other church teams at various fun, fast-paced quiz meets throughout the year!
Through the quizzing program, students not only memorize and study large portions of Scripture but learn to interpret Scripture correctly and develop a lifestyle and attitude of obedience.
Traveling to Meets
During the season, our students host teams and travel to meet and compete with teams from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Central Wisconsin.
We’d love to have you join our team! Please email Laurie Homuth at laurie.homuth@gmail.com for more information.
D-Group
D(iscipleship)-Group aims to help students grow into mature followers of Jesus and to equip them to reach out to others in their community.
Students in a D-Group commit to meeting with a godly adult weekly for a semester. When the group comes together, the students pray, share about their lives, study Scripture, and apply it to their lives. As the group meets, students grow in grace and develop essential habits for a faithful and fruitful life in Christ Jesus.

Serve Sheboygan
Serving our neighbors with Extreme and Uncommon Generosity
Our whole church partners together every July for a three-day, at-home outreach event that aims to “Serve Sheboygan” with such extreme and uncommon generosity that our neighbors are tangibly confronted with the radical, self-giving love of Christ. Students and leaders complete various service projects and look for opportunities to pray and share the gospel.
Districts Youth Conference
Connecting to God and others
We always ask our graduating seniors the same question: “During your time in youth ministry, what were some of the most powerful experiences that strengthened your relationship with Jesus?” And without fail, the annual Districts Youth Conference remains one of the top answers.
When thousands of students and leaders gather to seek the face of God through His Word, prayer, and worship, students come back not only closer to God but to each other. Nothing accelerates the deepening of friendships between students and leaders quite like a weekend away in pursuit of our God. Districts, then, is a remarkable opportunity to connect both to God and each other in powerful ways, and we desire every student to have this experience!
Mark your calendars — DISTRICTS 2027 will be held January 15–17, 2027 at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay, WI. Stay tuned for registration information.

Stephen Peel
Pastor of Student Ministries
I am thrilled that God has brought my family to Sheboygan eFree Church, where I have the opportunity to serve as the Pastor of Student Ministries. Lydia and I have been involved in youth ministry in various youth groups for over ten years, and we are so excited to be a part of God’s continued work here in Sheboygan. I received a B.A. in Youth Ministry from Moody Bible Institute and subsequently completed a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
My prayer is that I may faithfully point students and their families to Christ. I want people to get to know God and to be absolutely captivated by His beauty so that they live lives of worship and service for God’s glory forever.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, and spending time with Lydia and my three energetic children. I also enjoy riding anything that moves, including bikes, rollerblades, sailboats, and occasionally my unicycle.
Michael Vaszily
Elder and Student Ministries Advisor
Sharing the love, hope and peace of God with the next generation is a great responsibility and privilege. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as a ministry advisor to both the kids and student ministry programs as we work together to reach the youth of our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We see our role as supporting parents in accomplishing this ever important mission. As a parent of three, I understand the challenges families face today. I also know the amazing impact the true living God can have in helping us (parents) love, teach and train these children in the way they should go. Stop in and check us out. We look forward to partnering with you!
