Psalm 104: Song of the Creator, Part 2
The last ‘chapter’ in Book 4 of the Psalms is made up of Psalms 104, 105, and 106. The theme of Book 4 has been maturity: the idea that the people of God are really starting to trust the LORD and humbly submit to him. Those who are growing and maturing in honoring God find ample reasons to rejoice in him and worship him.
The first use of the word from which we get our word, Hallelujah (‘Praise Yahweh’) occurs as the very last word of Psalm 104. Today we will return to our study of Psalm 104 and find this lesson: God’s created world provides endless reasons for the LORD’s maturing people to Hallelujah!
Response of growing Christians:
1. Fight every tendency of becoming bored with the LORD’s created order. (1, 35)
2. Sing creation praise songs to the Creator, the LORD. (33)
3. Commit lots of mental energy to meditating on the LORD’s works. (34)
4. Rejoice in the LORD. (34)
5. Reflect upon what happens to those who reject the LORD. (35a)
6. Hallelujah. (35b)
