Psalm 92: Your Declaration

person Dr. Gary Hylander

Having entered Book 4 through the double doors of Psalms 90 and 91,we are now introduced to a collection of 9 psalms that reinforce thefact that the LORD is King. Psalms 92-100 inform us that the LORD isour permanent dwelling place, that our God has established a perpetualdynasty through the line of David, and our LORD is to be the focus ofour worship. Psalms 92-100 emphasize authentic worship, with Psalm96 serving as the pinnacle of these 9 psalms.

In Psalm 92, we are called to make a declaration of our faith in theLORD. Verse 2 summons us to declare your [Lord] steadfast love in themorning, and your faithfulness by night. Verse 15 challenges us to declarethat the LORD is upright. These 2 verses serve as bookends to Psalm 92,equipping us to worship our LORD throughout our lives. For the exiledJewish people who pondered this psalm on the Sabbath, such wordswould remind them that their true dwelling place is in the LORD alone. This should be our experience as well.

As We Declare The LORD’s Greatness In Our Worship, Note…

– The Works Our LORD Has Produced. (1-4)
– The Opposition Our LORD Has Faced. (5-9)
– The Blessings Our LORD Has Provided. (10-15)
