2 Corinthians 9:6-15: Abounding in Every Good Work

Today is ‘Stewardship Sunday,’ which we emphasize periodically for the edification of growing Christians. Stewardship is simply the faithful and obedient management of the things which belong to God. It includes money, to be sure, but also our efforts and use of time. As we grow, we become more and more aware that everything, without exception, belongs to the LORD. Furthermore, each of us will give account to him regarding how we invested what belongs to him (Rom 14:12).
In our passage today, Paul is encouraging the people of Corinth about the way they manage what belongs to the LORD. The goal of our lives is to live and give in such a way that people give thanks to God and glorify him.
