Job 10:8-12: The Hands That Fashioned Us

It was on January 22, 1973, when the Supreme Court of the United Statesannounced it’s decision regarding abortion in the case of Roe v. Wade. Thedecision, made by a 7-2 majority, overturned laws restricting or prohibitingabortion in all states across the nation. The majority claimed to have foundthis right in the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, arguing for a right toprivacy in the due process portion of the amendment.

On December 1, 2021, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the caseof Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. In light of this recentcase, the possibility exists that Roe v. Wade be either overturned or elsemodified and restricted in its application. The decision is expected to beannounced later this year. As we do on a yearly basis, we are pausing onthis Sanctity of Human Life Weekend, and exploring how to apply biblicalprinciples that promote a culture of life.
