Psalms 125-126: Immovable
The Psalms of Ascent (120-134) provide an inspired reminder of the Aaronic blessing found in Numbers 6:24-27: ‘The LORD bless you’ (Psalm 128:5, 134:3), ‘and keep you’ (repeated 6 times in Psalm 121); the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you (Psalm 123:2-3, 130:2); the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace (Psalm 125:5, 128:6).
Our psalms today are underlining this reality: as the people of God trust his promises—even while we experience seasons of waiting, wandering and chastening—he is our peace and our joy, and he will faithfully bring us home.
When We Trust The Lord Together, We…
Cannot be moved. (125:1-3)
Pray for peace. (125:4-5)
Celebrate God’s work. (126:1-3)
Pray for one another. (126:4-6)
