1 Samuel 1: 1-28: Remember Me

Passage: 1 Samuel 1:1-28

Throughout our nation today, people are pausing to honor our mothers. We
know that the principle behind this expression of respect is found in the
words of Moses who wrote Honor your father and your mother, that your days
may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you (Exodus 20:12).
Jesus honored his mother on the cross when, referring to Mary, he said to the
Apostle John Behold, your mother! (John 19:27).

The story we are considering today involves a woman by the name of
Hannah. This remarkable woman sought God in prayer during a time when
the culture was deteriorating and her own home life was less than ideal. As
we examine 1 Samuel 1, we will seek to honor our mothers, and the impact
they have had upon our lives.
